i found this in my notes app the other day. wow. last week, she said, " this is amazing" and "absolutely" and " this is our family's house."

yay! kaya got to eat french fries!!!!! what a happy day!!!! she even shared them with posey! she is too sweet! i'd be hissing at anybody who came near my fries if i hadn't eaten in 14 days!

we had a good visit with her and she seemed like her normal self again! we are sooo happy that she is getting better!

kaya and posey hang out in the bed together! its so cute! they watch youtube videos together and play with playdough and paint their fingernails!

our little friend, kaya, has been in the hospital for the last few weeks and we've been going to visit. posey is getting more comfortable with the idea that kaya can't move around like she used to. they snuggle up on the bed together and play with toys. :) its been fun to visit that precious baby girl!

SANDBOX!!!

aaron bought posey a "beeg tuttle" (big turtle) sandbox the other day! she sees it every morning and with eyes wide says, "i see beeg tuttle!" its a very let's-not-say-it-too-loud-cuz-it-might-hear-us kinda tone. so funny. she's still not super excited about getting sand on herself, but she's coming along!

one happy girl

i love her face. she is sitting across from me in a booth like we are two adults. hilarious.

smart girl

i wrote posey's name the other day in chalk on our driveway. later, she was with aaron and she pointed to her name and said, " dat says p-o-s-e-y!"

totally SPELLED her name out!

what in the world? smart girl, that's what.

She has said, "I love you, Manny" and "I love the baby" to Mandy and Mya today.

At lunch today, she was eating her rice, shaking her head, and saying, "it's delicious."

Posey is obsessed with shoes and buckles.

She will come scooting into view with any pair of shoes that have been left sitting around. She knows she is funny. She will try on shoes right along with you in the adult shoe section of stores. She will raid my closet and model every pair she can get. Obsessed.

Then there are the buckles. Car seats, strollers, shopping carts, backpacks......you name it. If it has a buckle, Posey wants to buckle it. It's one of her most favorite things.

I've been looking through and reading some of the blog of Posey's first year. It's been so fun to remember lots of the little things that I never would have remembered otherwise. I feel compelled to keep a better record than I have been the last few months. So there is a new goal! i hope i can stick with it!

I remember when I could list every word that Posey could say.

easter egg hunt!!!

posey experienced her first egg hunt today! it was a mad rush for eggs but posey managed to find 2! they each had a caramel in them! she opened the first egg and said, "candy!?" we played some games and ate a hotdog. posey went in the bounce house.....and thats about all she did in there. she sat.:)

we had a great time! it was a beautiful day!

Two things

1. Yesterday, we were shopping around at a store. Posey was in the cart and she looked up at me, stretched her arms out and said, "hug?" So I gave her a hug as I was meltiing..... Then while we were hugging she said, "i love you, mom." Good grief. I pulled away and looked at her face and she said, "kiss?"

That's the first time she's asked me for a kiss! Somebody get me down out of the clouds.

2. I had laundry to fold and some ironing to do, so Posey played in the room where I was working. She played with some of her usuals, but then she got out my old baby dolls and played and played and played with them! It was so cute! She tucked them in and covered them with blankets......she sang songs to them and kissed them.....gave them hugs....told them, "no,no!"

She must've played like that for 30 minutes! That was the first time she has really played with babies like that. So precious!

ok....one more thing!

She has started to tee tee on the potty!!!!! She asked me on Tuesday, "i tee tee? i tee tee?" So, I took her diaper off and set her on the potty. I left her alone for a minute and came back and she had done it! We had a celebration and ate a popsicle! I'm not pushing it and just letting her get interested in it. I think she likes washing her hands even more than getting a popsicle! She sobs every time I turn the water off and pull the towel down to dry her hands off. Bless it. It loves to wash a hand.

I went over to a friend's house for a couple of hours tonight. Aaron and Posey hung out at home while I was away. When I got back, Aaron gave me the rundown of what he and Po did during their time together.

1. Dance party in the kitchen while eating pizza.

2. Retrieve Po's bucket from the backyard.

3. Tricycle ride through the neighborhood. (Aaron said Posey sang all kinds of songs for the last 30 minutes of the ride.)

4. Picked up some big sticks and pine cones.

5. Came inside and drank milk and watched some Blue's Clues.

6. Bathtime!

7. Grease down and pj's on.

8. Bed time.

It was so fun to hear Aaron talk about their time together! He was amazed at how well she can sing some of the songs he heard. I love when they can spend time together. I know Posey just eats it up! She LOVES her Daddy. And I know he LOVES her too! Too precious for me......

a new phase

yes! we purchased the potty! she is so excited about it! i think one day next week we will stay home and really focus on tee teeing in the potty! she was trying it this morning and actually got some tee tee in there! we cheered and high-fived and washed our hands in the sink!!! she loved it! wish us luck and patience!

miss independent

lately, every time we turn around, Posey has found some article of clothing laying around (sorry, aaron) and is trying her hardest to dress herself. She attempts any of it.....tshirts, coats, jeans, shoes....

and then today, she was trying to get her feet in my boots and the next thing i know she throws her hands in the air and says, "i did it!" she had put her own shoes on ALL BY HERSELF! wow! the right feet and everything!

i can't say this is any indicator of things to come, but it sure was cute!
